Whats on: January 2025

Our Alternative (and fashion industry specific) guide to January in London has landed! How are we keeping ourselves feeling inspired, energised and well rested during this notoriously blue month?

Learning…

Co-production: Queer Culture & Photography is an educational module taking place on January 14th, that gives you a chance to delve into the legacy of queer events and the photographers who practice them. It’s going to be an amazing session exploring histories, peer reviews, and your work can even be included in the module zine afterwards! Head to outsavvy to book (https://www.outsavvy.com/event/23615/co-production-queer-culture-photography)

An amazing line up of new short films at London Short Film Festival! Nothing helps develop your craft like being inspired by upcoming talent, amazing costumes and storylines, and experimental works. Personally we are catching some of the horror shorts - so we might catch you there! @londinshortfilmfest starts on January 17th, and continues till January 26th with screenings happening all around the city. Book your tickets online asap as they sell out fast!

Dancing…

At our own party! And you’re invited to come dance with us too! Head to Outsavvy (or right here on our website's event page) to book your ticket, and join us at The Divine on January 23rd for a fashion party with a difference: we’re talking costumes, interactive activities, back to back DJs and a special launch surprise! The theme: fashion and gender… interpret as you will…

Shopping..

The Goldsmith Vintage Kilo Sale! Find them at 2 Overbury road on January 26th (and pick up your ticket on Eventbrite) then shop to your hearts content with bags at £20 a kilo. Just remember: A kilo is about the same as a bag of rice or flour, don’t let it trick you! @goldsmithvintagekilo

Networking.. .

At @styleandsoundhi January fashion networking event! We highly recommend you follow them if you work in fashion, they host regular parties and bring a great vibe! For Janaury’s event - head to eventbrite to snap up a ticket, and we’ll see you at Bubba Oasis on the 13th!

Practicing…

Self love! If 2024 taught us anything its that the world isn’t going to slow down for us, we need to take time to do that for ourselves. So with the help of @bodylovesketchclub we will be attending Yeah Love! Body Love! For a session of self love yoga practice, followed by a liberating life drawing class where you are invited to draw, or to try out posing yourself! Fashion is inherently linked to the body and in order to use clothing as a tool to express yourself and throw off certain body related shackles, the love has to start at the body - specifically, your body. Head to eventbrite to book. As many exhibitions as we can - before they close!

Barbie: The Exhibition at The Design Museum

Outlaws: Fashion Renegades of 80s London at the Fashion and Textile Museum

Naomi (Cambell) at the V&A

Vogue: Inventing the Runway at Lightroom

Tomorrows Wardrobe at The Design Museum

Go - see them before they’re gone, there are some more amazing fashion exhibitions coming in 2025 that we need to make space for! (stay tuned for updates on those in the new year...)
